Mission 4 - Overview
Samarra Bank Heist, Part 1

Samarra, Iraq. November 30, 2003 - After a disastrous month in which 100 coalition soldiers and civilians gave their lives in Iraq, soldiers of the 4th "Iron Horse" Infantry Division crush a sophisticated daytime attack in the middle of this 'Sunni Triangle' city, killing 46 insurgents. The insurgents' goal: steal the millions in new Iraqi currency being carried to banks by American soldiers as part of a major currency exchange. The enemy - many in the black garb of the Fedayeen Militia as replicated in the online game-- simultaneously ambush two armored convoys on opposite sides of town using roadside bombs, rocket-propelled grenades, and small arms. The power of US armor is made clear, however, as Americans force their way over barricades and out of the planned "kill sack," totally reversing the ambush and destroying their attackers. This is the first part of a two-part online game episode, each detailing one of the Samarra ambushes.

In this episode's Kuma News segment, Major General Thomas L. Wilkerson, USMC (ret.) details the motivation of the enemy and the sophistication of the ambush. He also offers insight into the power and tactical advantages of a M1A1 tank, which you'll command as a member of the "Iron Horse" Division in the online game.
