Mission 20 -Overview
Freedom's Heroes: Rangers Lead the Way

Spera, Afghanistan. April 22, 2004: After witnessing a ruthless ambush by al Qaeda operatives, Army Rangers enter the line of fire to help free their comrades trapped in the kill zone.

Operation Mountain Storm began less than a month ago. The large-scale endeavor, designed to root out al Qaeda and Taliban insurgents in the some of the most remote areas of Afghanistan, is being hailed a success. But frequent ambushes and attacks against US forces have not relented.

In today's edition of Kuma News, decorated combat veteran and Army Ranger Dr. Jack O'Connor, Vice President of On Target Communications, joins Jacki Schechner to share with us what it means to be a Ranger. Also, Major General Thomas L. Wilkerson (ret), CEO of the United States Naval Institute, discusses the US campaign in Afghanistan and the role of military volunteerism in today's society. And Dante Anderson, Kuma's Head of Product Development, explains how Kuma modeled this Ranger mission in Afghanistan.

This is the first installment in our Freedomís Heroes series, featuring outstanding units and the exemplary actions of their men and women. Kuma\War honors those who selflessly put themselves at risk to protect the freedoms and the lives of millions of people around the globe every minute of every day.
